in the quaint town of Kars,

St. John’s Anglican Church has preserved its original charm with its 19th century pine pews and floor boards.

St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Kars, was built in 1850. It originally stood on land which is now Elmview Cemetery. In late December 1904, it was cross-braced and moved on skids over Roger Stevens Creek and north to its present location where sheds were added to shelter the horses.

The three-sided balcony adds a unique touch to the church’s design, providing a birds-eye view for worshippers.

The Church Hall was added in 1985 and has just been fully renovated to include an accessible washroom. The Hall and church are fully wheelchair accessible.

If you are interested in renting the hall at St. John’s Kars click here for more information.
